tamago23 is my main journal. This is the journal for my dance-related stuff (bboy and locking).

HISTORY: I'd been bellydancing off and on for several years but didn't discover this style of dancing until I got hooked on Super Cr3w while watching the second season of America's Best Dance Crew. I started going to local drop-in classes for funk dancing (locking, popping, etc) and fell in love with locking, but didn't think it was a possibility to become a bgirl since I was already 28 years old. Then I started visiting the bgirl forums at bboy.org and discovered that there's plenty of older bboys and bgirls... so here I am, working my way towards being a bgirl. :)

FISHBELLY: The name is because I'm about as white as it's possible to be without being albino. I'm so pale that even after an entire summer without using sunblock I still have to use the palest shade of MAC powder in order to match my skintone. As a result my husband teases me about my "fishbelly whiteness", so when I decided I needed a name for my bgirl and locking activities, I thought Fishbelly would work well. :)

INFLUENCES: I haven't found a particular bgirl yet that rocks my socks above the others, but for bboys I'd say Ronnie Boy, Taisuke, and Hong10. I'm looking forward to starting to go to bboy events so I can start checking out the local talent. :)

TECHNIQUES:
Locking - mastered: Haha... no, I haven't mastered any steps yet.
Locking - working on: Pointing, pacing, Scoobot, wrist twirls

Bboy - mastered: Yeah, as if.
Bboy - working on: Toprocking and six-step (hey, I just started)
